Some things I remember doing for entertainment, fun or just because, when I was a kid:
1. Roller Skating
2. Tag with the neighborhood kids
3. Walking on top of the fences
4. Rolling down the hill in a garbage can
5. Falling out of a moving car - got stitches
6. Playing at the park from morning till night
7. Fist fighting with my best friend Kim
8. Playing in the creek looking for crawdads
9. Playing Steal the Bacon and Capture the Flag at Mimi Kay's
10. Swimming at Aunt Gens
11. Playing Blinds Man Bluff
12. Playing Kick the Can in the middle of Yates - broke my foot
13. Crawling across Yates popping tar bubbles
14. Playing baseball in the front yard
15. Playing softball in school
16. Going to the Library
17. Walking to Mimi Kay's
18. Riding bikes to Cloverleaf for gum and candy
19. Spending the night at Mimi Lena's and going to the candy store "house" around the corner
20. Easter Egg hunts at Mimi Kay's
21. Cutting my own hair
22. Creating and performing in plays at the Hollahans
23. Playing in the snow - we tried to make the biggest snowman ever, we rolled it all the way around the block several times
24. Sledding down the hill - the really big hill on Melvin
25. Getting ice from the milk man
26. Playing with candles - don't let the kids read this one
27. Playing with matches in the bushes by the Walsh's house, didn't learn from number 26

Does falling out of a moving car actually count as entertainment or fun?
The smell of tar instantly reminds me of being a little kid and playing outside our house on Nantucket in Whitehaven. We used to pop the bubbles on the telephone poles, though, not in the middle of the road! Where was your mother?
